The table furniture at Rossopomodoro included a large tin, the sort of tin you might sell tomatoes in. Given that this tin had no lid and the inside of the top felt very smooth, not the feel of a tin from which you had just removed the lid at all, we wondered whether this décor tin had ever contained tomatoes, or whether it had been produced for the purpose.
The fact that, as seems to be de rigueur in Italian restaurants these days, that they sold groceries, groceries which included suitable tins of tomatoes, does not really help one way or the other.
