The first trolley for more than a week, and the first M&S trolley since early January, captured on the alley running between Epsom town centre and the railway station.
A little later, marked down two more for collection another day, left in the back entrance to what had been, many years ago now, the indoor market. With the outdoor market being made possible by re-routing southbound A24 traffic off the High Street and around the back of the Ashley Centre.
As it happens, the winds of town management fashion have shifted and either Epsom or Surrey are about to spend several million pounds to at least partially undo the changes made to the A24 twenty five or so years ago. This is the same Surrey that has recently done a deal with central government not to have the referendum noticed at reference 1. A deal noticed in today's Guardian and which may involve rich Surrey not paying as much into the poor pot as it usually does. Surrey's gain is Hackney's loss?
