Cellos

We seem to be in the midst of a festival of cello, with both St. Luke's and Kings Place being thick with them, and with the Wigmore Hall not doing badly either. To what are these places responding? What has happened in the world of cello for them to have popped up to the top of the heap?

So far, my only forward commitment to cello is in June 2018 at Milton Court, a long way off. Booked in response to the concert noticed at reference 1. So maybe I will be tempted by the Kings Place offer of four of Bach's suites over two concerts in the Autumn. Can't find out where the other two got to.
