The block in Palmers Green where we once owned the flat with the slipping asphalt. At least I think it is, and not as smart looking as I remember, having been originally built to a good standard. Nor can I remember much about the road from streetview, beyond the track leading to the block of garages behind, one of which was mine for £1 a week, the going rate at that time.
No recollection at all of New River or Pymmes Brook, although I think there was water in the nearby Broomfield Park. Gmaps shows the river crossing the brook, as in cross roads - which seems very odd. Was one of the pair underground and the other overground?
PS: £1 does not seem like much. Perhaps memory slipping in that department too.
