Bread

The dough of the 348th batch of bread after the lid had been removed at the end of the first rise. The mess in the middle being the scrapings from the underside of the lid.

As it happened, a good batch, with two unusually well risen loaves with good taste and texture. An event which does not correlate particularly well with the quality of the first rise.

The sturdy bowl was discarded from a mental hospital in the west of the country, during its run-down prior to closure.

To my eyes anyway, a slightly odd effect when you click to enlarge the picture, with the focus coming and going, with a hint of movement in the dough. Clearly the sort of image which can play tricks. Or is it just that the brain is doing a bit of image enhancement if you give it the time?
