Shrinking violets

Some violets showing through in a quiet spot up East Street.

To which can be added celandines by the stream down Longmead Road, a first dandelion flower down Horton Lane and, in our own back garden, a rather thin showing of arum maculatum. On the other hand, the new daffodil bed is doing a lot better than last year.

There are also a lot of white flowers appearing, in hedgerows and gardens and which I had been calling whitethorn. But google suggests otherwise and I am now not sure at all.
