When we first moved to Epsom, these beds at Stoneleigh Station were looked after by one of the staff, probably a long service British Rail man, and were full of flowers. A pleasant sight on the way home.
Flowers which are long gone and the station is now unattended for quite large chunks of the week.
One wonders whether, given the shortage of decent manual work, a shortage which looks set to get much worse, Brexit notwithstanding, we will get around to reinstating jobs of this sort, to the greater good of us all. I am not very hopeful.
On a more positive note, the station had a much more rural feel to it than Epsom, despite being nearer town. A lot more birds and bees.
PS: notice what has happened to the posts which are furthest away, the left most ones. Telephones seem to have trouble with thin straight lines.
