Beeches pit two

Careful inspection of the snap left will reveal three of the trenches dug by the archos in the north eastern side of Beeches Pit. Click to enlarge. Luckily I had my (Montreal) compass with me, so I knew my north from my east, not to mention my hawk from my handsaw. See reference 1.

No evidence left on the ground of whatever may have been found in these trenches. Perhaps the papers referred to in my earlier post explain all; the first of them certainly includes a diagram of the site which shows their positions.
