Nothing much in the garden, despite the snow. The bird feeder hanging off the garage remains largely untouched.

But there were some redwings in the trees and on the ground, down Longmead Road this morning. Better than nothing. See reference 1 for the last occasion.

PS: a walking stick proved a much more convenient aid in the icy snow near the house today than the spring contraptions that I could have wrapped around my shoes - assuming that I could have found them from their hanging place in the garage. Effective but a bit clumsy to be walking any distance in. See, for example, reference 2.
