The interior of the church at Parham. Any houses which might have been nearby had been cleared away.
Not clear who got to sit on the little chair underneath the pulpit. Perhaps the churchwarden or the sexton?
A plaque nearby commemorated the death of Lieutenant Colonel in the First Foot Guards, somewhere in the vicinity of Niagara Falls, a reminder of a time when we were not bound by everlasting ties to our allies in the USA, at that time young and a touch stroppy, with funny views on our rights of search & entry on the high seas.
