It seems that the villa was more or less next to a port when it was up and running.
PS: I lunched rather well on Riesling (I think) and steak pie. Further evidence that Sussex really is pie country. BH was less happy with her choice, pasta floating around in rather a lot of a creamy sauce. Certainly not my sort of thing.
