I was interested to notice, on the way to the station, the complicated asphalt roof to the base of the Epsom clocktower. Happily hot moulded with a trowel and been there ever since - unlike that behind the false pitch on the roof of a flat we once owned in Palmer's Green, where the steeply sloping, south facing asphalt had slipped in the course of many hot summers. Luckily, the surveyor did not see fit to comment when we sold it on.
