Bing's picture of the day today is a handsome shot (not the one left) of a couple of horses' heads, 30m high, in a park in Falkirk, up north. Called the kelpies.
It seems that they are part, perhaps the centrepiece, of a splendid looking place called the helix. Read all about it at reference 1, where you can also see an entertaining, if rather noisy, time lapse video of their construction (from steel).
Rather better than the rather ugly sculptures that we seem to put up in Hyde Park.
Microsoft really do rather well with these pictures of the day, which come complete with one button to tell you what it is and another to page through back numbers. Some one likes more than others, which is only human, but the overall standard is very high. A fairly large proportion of them come from the UK, so they must tune what you see to your location - and maybe there is a whole building full of people in their Seattle campus devoted to sourcing them all. Maybe I can work out how to see what they are beaming into China.
