Not the changing rooms for the Woking Choral Society, rather the gin festival cranking into life while we took tea and scone indoors. We were told by the young ladies at the back of the queue that you have to both pay to get in and pay for your gin. Swizz.
The grass in front of the main entrance, the west end, of the cathedral, seemed a rather odd place to park a tent for a gin festival, but I suppose cathedrals closes and greens have seen worse.
PS: gmaps tells me that the cathedral runs on something very close to an east-west axis, as is proper. From where I associate to the ecclesiastical controversies about whether holy buildings pointing at places like Mecca and Jerusalem should point along great circles or lines of latitude. A distinction on which much ecclesiastical ink has been spilt.
