Royal Army Dental Corps

My father having been an army dentist during the second world war, possibly a member of the Royal Army Dental Corps, we were interested to see a sign today, on an army base said to headquarter various support outfits, which suggested that the dentists might be one of them.

However, closer inspection revealed a walk-in primary care clinic, shut on Friday afternoons and weekends. And serious cases are probably, these days, referred to civilians.

We wondered whether the army still has dental trauma specialists - more specialised than the ones that you might get in a large general hospital. Quite possibly not in peacetime.
