Ant life continues in the now not-so-new daffodil bed and I thought the telephone did quite a good job on the results.
The action seems to be mainly on the periphery, renewed each morning. The ants must all be on night shift as we only rarely see them.
Interestingly, the nest does not seem to be disturbed by foxes, cats, squirrels or birds - and one might have thought that birds at least might have had a taste for ants. Good source of protein I should have thought - but maybe the avian alimentary canal is not good with formic acid.
