Eton boys

I was interested to read all about a company called Cambridge Analytica in yesterday's Guardian. All about their harvesting of large amounts of Facebook data through obscure intermediaries and their links with the party of Trump.

But what particularly caught my eye was the fact that the boss of this outfit went to school at Eton and went on to study history of art at Manchester University - with, in my day, history of art being the subject of choice for Sloanes wanting something to do before Mr. Right turned up. Preferably an officer in the Foot Guards, failing that something well paid in financial services.

Perhaps he was a contemporary of that other Eton educated scion of the right, Jacob Rees-Mogg. Perhaps they still swap port occasionally. However, while these Eton boys might get everywhere, parents wishing to project their darlings into the ruling classes should have a care and take a peek at the post advertised at reference 2, re-advertised a little more than a year later at reference 3.
