Oxtail four

Yesterday afternoon saw the fourth oxtail of the season, cooked on pretty much exactly the same lines as last time, that is to say as noticed at reference 1.

But rather fancier wine, a Greco di Tufo from Villa Raiano via Hedonism, which turned out to be rather good, very good even. And very topical as it just so happens that I think Hedonism was founded and is owned by a rich Russian expatriate. Sadly, the last of the 2014 vintage. Livened up by the words in the middle of the label being in Latin; so perhaps despite the generally Italian wrapping, it was intended for the top end of the English market with its classically trained old Etonians.

And a rather fancier dessert. Damson cheese and Lincolnshire Poacher from Neal's Yard Dairy, taken with only slightly out of date Jacob's Crackers, still as far as I am concerned, far and away the best biscuit to take with cheese. The damson cheese was new to me, but good. Poacher as good as we have come to expect.

Rounded out with chocolates and calvados from Sainsbury's taste the difference range. Dark Belgian chocolate assortment good. Calvados Pays D'Auge XO, rather dearer than the middle offering (of three) of Majestic Wine, but also rather better.
