The concrete blocks used to face up the new extension were, at first glance, very clever & attractive.
But on closer inspection one started to worry about how well they would wear - this also being a worry about the insides. Also about how they were all fixed together? How were they fixed to the structure inside? Should one pry a few loose with a wrecking bar, would the whole lot come tumbling down? See reference 1 or Screwfix part number 29330. Or part number 20917 if you want a matching set, like the cook knives we all carry in our kitchens these days.
There was one acute angled corner where I thought that the top blocks, well within reach, looked particularly vulnerable.
