There is a patch of derelict land between Mill Road and the railway line, say gmaps 51.337057, -0.255096, from which I used, from time to time, pick damsons.
Recently there has been talk of redevelopment and now the land has been cleared, leaving just half a dozen or so young trees, say around 10 to 15 feet high.
One of which I have tried to illustrate left. My belief is that it is a stray lemon tree which managed to survive because it was wrapped up, as it were, by the surrounding brush. Presumably it will now snuff it.
I shall keep an eye on it.
PS: I thought the telephone did quite a reasonable job considering that the sun was behind the tree. Very arty, if a little pale.
