Not quite a London crane, but not at all bad for the provinces. How many of these could they put in one field?
This one assisting with the demolition of the remains of the Royal Clarence Hotel in Exeter - with shops all around which need to be secured against the winter to come.
This snap give a fair impression of the size of the thing, taken from the only place from where I could get it all in.
The bad news was that a large chunk of the cathedral green, on a corner of which we had the crane, was taken up with a rather tacky Christmas Market - nominally German but I dare say a lot of the staff came from places to the east and south of there and that a lot of the stuff came from China. Or do the people noticed at reference 1 get in to this bottom end of the fancy goods market?
Maybe it would have looked better in the dark, having taken in some of the spiced up wine on offer.
