419 done

Following the dough noticed at around 0800 this morning at reference 1, we now have the finished product, which emerged from the oven at around 1630 - more than eight hours later. Very good eating at around 1800.

It may not be the only way to do it, but it is the way that I find reliable - with the catch being that it would not do to be at work at the same time - apart from the window of opportunity during the first rise, say from 0800-1200. Best suited to the retired.

The two baking dishes visible top are from Lakeland and were intended for pizza, but they do very well for bread - and were both cheaper and more suitable than some of the more specialised, bread baking products to be had from the likes of John Lewis.

The wire tray visible bottom is probably one of the few survival in the kitchen from my childhood home.
