King George

A view of the monument at St. George's Circus, mentioned in the last post, looking north up Blackfriars Road.

Earlier visits, from the early days of my retirement, being noticed at references 1 and 2, and I am sure that I have cycled around the thing several times since, possibly on the way to the Globe Theatre from Vauxhall. A place which I used to visit a lot, but have not now visited for a while. Not encouraged by the provenance of their outgoing artistic director. See reference 3.

It continues to intrigue me that such a thing should be in such a place. One day I will get around to looking up the story.
