Trolley 78

Trolley 78 captured somewhere along East Street, probably not far short of the Kiln Lane turning, as one comes along from Epsom. Streetview fails to reveal the exact location.

Unusually, a trolley without security device on a front wheel, working or otherwise.

As it happens, once again with cherries, on this occasion 2lbs for £5. We have bought the same cherries before, from the same man, but these proved to be eatable, but a little overripe. Not much damaged but they had certainly lost their bloom; dull red rather than shiny red. They have now been stewed and should be fine like that - assuming, that is, that I have not overdone the water. But I did go through the palaver of boiling up the sugar and water before adding the cherries. We shall see, when they have cooled down later today.

Also a touch of sandals, togas and thrones from Epsom's entertainment exchange (reference 2). At £8 for 22 episodes they will have to be very dire indeed not to be value for money. Sold in a brown paper bag for greater discretion. I would not like the ITV3 controller to find out that we have defected for a while.
