A Sainbury's trolley, recovered from the bank of the stream running down Longmead Road, now cleaned, standing in the back garden and awaiting delivery to the dépôt tomorrow.
The bicycle left looked fairly new and I could not see anything wrong with it. We thought afterwards that perhaps it had been stolen by another child, then hidden in the bushes by the stream. Perhaps I should have hauled it out onto the open grass where the owner might have found it. Who knows.
Earlier in the walk, by the Bourne Hall one-way gyratory, I had turned up one of those reinforcing bars fashioned with a hook at one end and a spike at the other, that they use for hanging tape off at car boot sales and such-like events. About a yard long. Now in the garage awaiting its turn to shine.
All in all, a successful Ewell Village anti-clockwise.
