West Ewell

A rather splendid front garden, snapped in West Ewell this morning.

Alleged to be canna lilies, the last big display of same being at reference 1. The catch being that while both flowers are big and flashy, they are rather different. But there is hope yet with google throwing up lots of variety.

And while wikipedia talks of just 20 species of canna lily, a very small genus in plant terms, it also points to reference 2, which again throws up lots of variety.

So maybe both informants are right.
