Some of the houses on the other side of Hook Road have quite substantial front gardens and some of the inhabitants are quite into gardening.
This particular garden being the home to various interesting and handsome plants, including the Weeping Atlas Cedar first noticed about six years ago at reference 1, and with it and other specimens being noticed from time time since then. During which time, I think the supporting frame has had two makeovers.
Former council house by the look of it, part of the huge surge in council house building in the years after the second world war. For an interesting potted history of which see reference 2.
