Fake 22

Snapped in haste for the steel columns poked up inside telegraph poles, presumably to give a natural wood like feel to a steel frame shed. I should have taken a more careful look at the architect's impression posted below, because as it is I have no idea whether the four corner supports to each cluster of telegraph poles are permanent or not. If they are permanent, the natural wood like feel is going to be very muted. There is something similar at pavilion housing the Roman Villa at Brading, on the Isle of Wight, noticed at reference 3 before we started numbering such things.

I did try the architects website at reference 1, but that only told me that these people are indeed into rather flashy sheds for service areas, amongst other applications. However, I did learn on the way that the whole area had been the subject of a devastating fire just over a year ago, and that this building is part of the replacement effort. To be protected by fine new systems by the people at reference 2.

Odd that we had not noticed or heard about the fire, as we pass Fleet services at least twice in each direction each year. Perhaps we did hear - but then forgot.

Next time we pass I shall take a more careful look at the telegraph poles. Presumably not taken from the many trees which appear to have been lost, either in the fire or in clearing the space needed for new and temporary works.
