Stones Canadian style, from October 2014. Attracting the comment, a bit nearer the time: 'stony art in the Ottawa river, to which we were taken last autumn. It all gets washed away every time the river is in flood and the chap who does it is thought to be a bit odd'.
The telephone before the present one. The picture was taken quite late in the afternoon, say 1700 or so, but I do not remember it being quite so dark. On the other hand, the river was a clear, deep blue, rather than the sort of mud brown of our larger rivers. Also about five hundred miles inland and still a good bit wider than the Thames at Westminster.
