A not very clear shot from somewhere on Ryde Esplanade. Included here because at a little distance I was absolutely convinced that they were tulips, despite the time of year. It was not until I got much closer that the flowers resolved into wall flowers, sometimes confused with stocks. But while both are in the family Brassicaceae, along with cabbages, the former are genus Erysimum and the latter are genus Matthiola.
An example of top-down processing. I decided that they were tulips so that was what I saw.
