Sugar fix (suite)

The Dundee cake noticed at reference 1 turned out very well indeed.

Cooked just about right, the damp patch noticed on exit from the tin notwithstanding, with the cake somewhere between moist and dry. Fruit reasonably evenly distributed. Quite rich, with one slice, say one twelfth of the cake, quite enough at any one time. That is to say, roughly half an ounce each of flour, butter, sugar and dried fruit and half an egg. Enough grub to keep a starving African child going for several days. Maybe half a standard Mars Bar?

It also stood quite well in its authentic Tupperware cake container, the base of which can be seen above, and was only finished on Friday just past, just over a week since its baking.

We shall repeat in due course, in any event before the end of the year. With the first and possibly only previous venture being noticed at reference 2, more than three years ago. It looks as if this new recipe worked even better than the old recipe used there.
