The car park was decorated with a fine display of heleniums. I had not got a clue, but BH got it right first time. Immediately confirmed by Cortana, who also told us that it was also known as sneezeweed, having once been used to make a sort of snuff, sneezing being thought a good way to flush out bad humours from the thorax.
